We’re not showing you much of Moon 2 we admit – it’s a precarious balance between giving you all something to look forward to and giving away the plot – but there are great movements in the life of Moon – more perhaps than you’d expect. Enough, even to put him off of Coke Floats.
Will he be afraid of Coca Cola and Ice Cream? Will the events of Moon 2 change everything about the life of our hero? Yes, yes is the answer. Everything you know about Moon is open target in the rip-roaring new Moon book. Crazy Shennanigans!!

Page 17 of Moon 2 in all its ‘leaden’ ‘glory’ presented for your perusal. Work on Moon 2 is continuing apace and is looking really rather good for the extra effort. Many, many pages are already back from Iv’s South American palette. She continues to teach English to 11 different schools so is achieving an incredible feat by putting out any Moon pages at all. We remain as ever in awe of the lass.
But what is going on here? Both characters from the previous book and new to the series having a fight about something. But what? And what does it have to do with Moon?
We’re not telling you. Sorry. Maybe stop by the Moon table at a future con (perhaps not Kapow or MCM – sorry as it might not be available by then) or attend the Moon Launch and we’ll reveal all for a measly £3.50. Stop by anyway!!
In the meantime – why not grab another copy of Moon 1? Seriously – one for the week, one for Sunday best.

Moon hit Demoncon pretty hard in Maidstone yesterday we’re very pleased to say. Sharing a table with Cy Dethan, Nic Wilkinson, Barry Nugent and his lovely lady we settled in fast. While it wasn’t the biggest con Moon has ever attended there was wrestling in the other room – which was novel. Well received I’d like to thank everyone that showed so much enthusiasm for the golf ball head.
Also, thanks to Andy Lanning for donating his Starfleet Academy page from 1998 to the raffle that I won! Very, very cool. Plenty of inking tips and some frankly eye opening explanations about how lettering used to be done. Who knew that Richard Starkings was the godfather of modern comic book lettering, Dave Gibbons has his own lettering template so he doesn’t have to letter his own stuff anymore and Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning have a new book out that does stuff that they weren’t allowed to in Guardians of the Galaxy.

Those of you who follow such things will know that there have been some changes in the world of digital comics recently. A couple of weeks ago, Graphicly announced that they were moving out of digital comics distribution and instead focusing on the wider world of digital publishing. It’s a smart business move as Comixology pretty much has the comics market all sewn up but it does have certain implications for our operation.
As you may know, Graphicly were our partners in terms of bringing Moon onto digital devices and for a time you were able to buy a very nice digital copy of the book for a mere 99c. Sadly with Graphicaly closing that part of its business, this has come to an end. If you already purchased a digital copy of Moon #1 then you will still be able to read it via the Graphicly app on your phone, tablet or desktop. As of now however, the book is no longer available for sale to new readers and I’ll be taking the links down from the site today.
It’s a big shame because we put a lot of time into getting the book ready for digital, but Graphicly are a business and you can’t fault them for wanting to find more profitable ways of operating. Despite the problems it causes us, I actually think that what Graphicly are doing is quite exiting for e-publishing in general and there are certainly no hard feelings at our end.
I’m now looking into a new option for distribution Moon digitally. It’ll most likely take on a slightly more low-fi format, such as emailed PDFs or some-such but right now I’m not 100% sure. A lot of the doors that were open to smaller publishers a few years ago have been closed in favour of deals with bigger names but the changes are far from over and with every shift comes opportunities. I firmly believe that digital comics are a huge aspect of the future of our business and that independent publishers have a part to play in that evolution.
We’ve been forging our own path here at BTB since day one so it’s not like this is new ground for us. We’ll find a way and be the better for it, of that I have no doubt.
In the meantime, you can continue to buy Moon in print from our shop or at any of the conventions you see on the right hand side of the screen.
Thanks to everyone who bought the book while it was available and thanks to Graphicly for giving us a home, albeit for a short time.

Just wanted to remind you that if you fancy a bit of a warm up for the big conventions next month, there’s a 1 day comic con in Maidstone, Kent this Sunday. It’s called Demoncon and as well as featuring the very best indy talent in the UK it also boasts an impressive line up of pro creators as well.
We’ll be there as will the likes of Kieron Gillen (Uncanny X-Men, Journey Into Mystery), Dan Abnett & Andy Lanning (Nova, Guardians of the Galaxy, Warhammer 40K) and many more.
We won’t have any copies of Moon #2 for sale I’m afraid, but if you come and ask Steve really nicely, he might show you some of the pencils for it. We will have copies of Moon #1 however as well as some sexy A4 Prints that you can take home and love forever.
Demoncon runs form 11am til 4pm at the EXCHANGE STUDIO, MAIDSTONE, on April the 22nd and it costs a mere £5 to get in. How can you refuse?

Back in the 17th Century a cabal of fantasists met in a small London pub to discuss the containment of extra terrestrial life that had crash landed in Bermondsey. It hadn’t. They were fantasists. But they were quite drunk. That was not the beginning of the Agency. Nobody knows when the date or way that the Agency was formed but it operates in London and has done for at least the last 30 years.
As for the 17th Century fantasists – is there really no link? No. No, there isn’t.
The Agency stands between the general public and the powers of the ludicrous. With their headquarters at the far end of the runway at City Airport they have access to the rivers, air and streets of London. Far from recession proof – the Agency is struggling to make ends meet. Underpaid and undervalued – the brave men, women and Moon stand against the wave of silly that sweeps Great Britain on an almost weekly basis.

Modern day. The case for Ray and Moon that started the series of events is the mysterious murder of Councillor Hugh Griffiths. Reknowned for his recycling policies and liberal attitude towards street theatre, Tower Hamlets is a poorer place as a result of the loss of this giant of refuse politics.
What does this all mean. Surely a man like Hugh Griffiths couldn’t have any enemies lurking in the shadows. Is he a cack handed gun handler or did someone deliberately assassinate him? Whatever the answer – a big clue as to what it’s all about in Moon 2 when the main suspect to be the fleeing figure featured in Moon 1 will be revealed…

Moon and Ray have the promise of being the greatest agents in the history of the Agency. Ray was one of the finest new recruits back in the 70s. With the successful arrest of long-time hibernating crack pot Spring Heeled Jack, loose once again on the streets of London, using a carefully placed set of trampolines and a long range paintball gun – the chief of the time decided to team the young Barton with their most experienced agent. The rest as they say, is history. In future more of Ray and Moon’s adventures will be revealed – whether it be dealing with Space Nazis on Icy Tundra or postal tea ladies at Buckingham Palace – there will always be a place in the hall of fame for Moon and his long time partner Ray. All he has to do is survive the events of Moon 2….
