Lost Jedi: Rial Shif

A glitch in the force, Rial Shif (Alistair Reith) is a Jedi Knight of the highest capability but troubled with bouts of darkness and anger. His gruff exterior hides an honourable and honest Jedi but his manner found him at odds with many in the Jedi Order. He chose the path of Jedi Ronin, wandering the space lanes and bringing the path of the Jedi to the darkest recesses of the universe. His movements go unreported and undirected, Master Yoda and Windu trusting his innate judgment implicitly. With the onset of Order 66, no evidence of Shif existed in the archives – a secret that Yoda and Windu would take to their respective paths. His mission becomes a new one. The identification and protection of Lost Jedi and the reinstatement of the Jedi Order. Incredibly powerful with enormous psychokinetic powers as well as a cool and efficient capacity for dispatching his enemies, Shif is the closest thing to a Dark Jedi without having tipped irrevocably over the edge.

You may recognise Alistair Reith as the basis for our disreputable, hard boiled partner to Moon in BTB’s flagship title. He just looks right as a hard bitten, gruff warrior on the edge of the cause he’s fighting for. An, quite frankly, he’d agree with us.

George Lucas Strikes Back

Many questions have been asked as to why a man with everything going his way and the greatest franchise in movie history would resort to making Howard the Duck. There is only one answer possible. The real George Lucas was taken from the streets and incarcerated for 20 years while the industry pumped out the prequels in his name. Now Lucas is pissed and has Princess Leia, Short Round and Chewie to back him up.

Darth Maul never stood a fucking chance. But incarceration was never the answer. Lucas has to be shown how it could’ve been done. By none other than William Shatner!!

Lost Jedi: Jedi Master Jordo Pash

Jedi Master Jordo Pash (Tom Jordan) is a shining light in the Jedi Order. A capable and dependable warrior, sound tactician, instinctive control over his Jedi Powers, an adept pilot and skilled with a lightsabre. He is the all round Jedi. When presented with the decimation of the Jedi Order he has little or no choice. With the council in pieces and Jedi scattered throughout the galaxy, the panicked and fleeing Knights turn to him. Jordo Pash does all he can to step forwards and take on the threats that pervade him and his Jedi brothers and sisters. In the end all he can do is cause as much trouble as possible in order to draw Vader and the Clawing Legion in for a final showdown. Occasionally in cahoots with his old friend Govija Kaoli, he advises him away from siding with the remaining separatists.

Lost Jedi: Howsi Stigos and the Battle of Ipris Kii

The most layered and complex design I had attempted up until this point, the battle for Ipris Kii was the clearest scenario I had in my head. A coastal fortification under heavy assault from the Galactic Senates Forces (Clone Troopers led by Jedi). The incursion is through heavy cloud cover and among the assembled warriors are Howsi Stigos and her Master, Hollan Fry, a Sauron Jedi. As Hollan attempts to chastise her padawan in responsible use of the force the Dropship is struck by a missile. Hollan is killed on impact. Howsi Stigos survives the impact into the sea and fights her way to shore only to find enormous resistance. The scene depicted here is the moment prior to Order 66 being granted, with Howsi trapped between two warring factions, both about to be hell bent on killing her.

I’m not completely happy with it as some of the layers are not fully incorporated into the image but as a starter I found it reassuring that I wasn’t entirely lost in the composition of the piece.

Star Wars: Rap Battles of History: Darth Vader Vs Hitler

While we are revealing the development work for the Lost Jedi project every second Wednesday; we thought we should pay homage to the trilogy that spawned it. Every second Wednesday we will be posting up articles, videos and funny shit for folks to have a look at.

This week: Adolf versus Darth Vader. Hard to see how this one might play out. Hitler it turns out has quite a dirty riff up his sleeve during this lyrical abuse contest for the famous. Who will win? No matter what, the galaxy will lose….

Lost Jedi: The Kashyyk Contingent

Sent to Kashyyk to handle ground assaults, evacuation and supply lines on the far side of the planet, this small contingent of Jedi find themselves caught in a struggle to secure the safe passage of fleeing Wookies, refusal from Wookie councils to move off planet, the rapidly advancing separatist forces, the Clone army who have now turned on them and an attempt to protect and evacuate the Jedi Order’s most valued Master in Yoda.

Jedi Commander Ja Himan

Ja Himan (Himanshu Ojha) is a showman. A lunatic with a lightsabre he favours displays of viruosity and skill at times above the final result. He is effectively a swordsman of old. Preferring the parry and the thrust of one on one conflict, he will take on a tank as if a single opponent. On the whole he wins and his displays demoralise most opposition but his need to include danger can at times imperil his associates, something the extraction team that remains after Order 66 express regularly. However, he is almost always a great leader and a great source of morale for demoralised troops. A true friend to most Jedi, Ja Himan is an honest and true Jedi with only the best intentions. Brave and bold, it is his task to lead what is left of the Jedi on Kashyyk to an extraction point on the far side of the planet.

Frustrated Jedi Padawan Om Dom Chavi

Om Dom Chavi believes himself to be worthy of Knighthood. However, he believed this on day one of his training. Yoda despairs in his training as his focus on the far future limits his capacity to improve in the present. Never the less, Om Dom Chavi fights bravely when called upon – however can be relied upon to moan almost constantly throughout the process.

Jedi Knight Corin Darklighter

Corin Darklighter is distant Uncle to the famed X-Wing Pilot of Yavin. A capable and solemn Jedi Knight, he is at once quiet and thoughtful and aware of much that lies around him. An observant character he is subject to distraction. Something that has kept him from becoming a fully fledged master. He is prone to self doubt but always comes through when the need is greatest. He is more pacifist than many Jedi Knights, preferring to find a peaceful solution. This proves of great help during the negotiations with local Wookie leaders regarding evacuation.

Jedi Padawan Ruba Knightro

Jedi Knight Ruba Knightro is a passive, romantic figure. Softly spoken but ferocious in battle, his slight frame belies a manic fighter. At times subject to bouts of loss and grief, Ruba has to overcome more in the jungle than his immediate adversaries. However, when he is settled in himself he is the cheeriest and light heartedest of the group, enjoying the sights and sounds and experiences that Kashyyk offers between battles.

Rowrra the Beater. A giant Wookie (even by Wookie standards) Rowrra is made guide to the Jedi through the backwaters of Kashyyk. Responsible for the safety of his group, Rowrra is beligerent and difficult at almost all times but a ferocious warrior and capable tracker and navigator.

Lost Jedi: The Dark Side

Lord of the Sith Darth Vader - who pursues the last of the Lost Jedi

Lord of the Sith Darth Sidious

Moff Yung - Commander of the Imperial Fleet decimated by Govija Kaoli and Mooba Choobi

The new Empire seeks to decimate and hound the remaining Jedi. But foremost, and with the greatest threat to Emperor Palpatine’s power gone or under his own command it focusses now more on expansion and anchoring its control over the galaxy. Where ever possible the Jedi will attempt to stop this from happening. Jedi Master Ca De Nas holds the controlled Anakin Skywalker in place long enough for some Jedi to escape the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, Master Govija Kaoli and Padawan Mooba Choobi annihalate Star Destroyers in their pursuit to redress the balance, fighting alongside the remaining Separatist forces. Jedi Master Jordo Pash draws Vader into conflict on a barren Moon, far from innocent bystanders for a final showdown. Although the Sith and their cohorts believe they have effectively won, while one single Jedi remains in the galaxy, hope is not lost. So there.

Lost Jedi: Coruscant

Jedi Master Pesco Oldbar

Jedi Master Pesco Oldbar is a seer and a true commander of the force. Present at the Temple in Coruscant as sage advisor to even the most prominent Jedi she acts as councillor. With the attack on the Temple, her only concern is the safety of the Padawan. While she is unable to save all of them, she manages to help some escape, thanks in part to the bravery of other Jedi as they try to facilitate their departure.

Jedi Archivist Downa Di Evlo

Never to be dismissed merely as an archivist, Downa Di Evlo’s knowledge of the inner defenses of the Jedi Temple allow her to defend the Hall of Knowledge and Jedi Padawan passing through. Thanks to occassional tutelage by Jedi Master Ca De Nas, Windu and Govija Kaoli she proves a dab hand with a lightsabre too.

Jedi Knight Jan Pa Pek

Jan Pa Pek is the first to try to stop Anakin Skywalker as ploughs through the Temple but not the first to fall before him. His fury at Anakin overwhelms his Jedi calm brefily which momentarily gives Anakin pause.

Jedi Knight Tomos Seers

Jedi Knight Tomos Seers is Jan Pa Pek’s partner in all missions. Having trained together since Padawan stage, the two of them have an intuitive sense of what the other will do in battle. Their combined fury halts Anakin Skywalker and the Clone army briefly, long enough for the more defenceless Jedi to slip through the cordon.

Padawan Freya

Padawan Freya is trapped in the Coruscant Temple and is only freed by Ca De Nas during his battle with Anakin Skywalker. Aided, unwillingly, towards escape, Freya attempts at every turn to help but is overwhelmed with the violence, destruction and brutality around her as the battle continues. Regardless of her condition if she escapes, she will carry the scars of the day in the Coruscant Temple for the rest of her life.

Upon leaving the Jedi Order at the level of Knight he decided to pursue a career as a holovid star. He is reknowned galaxy wide as the star of Jedi holo vids. Tolerated by the Jedi Order because of his affable and honest nature, Sain has sworn to never reveal his affiliation. However recent events have changed the situation dramatically…

Between them they are responsible for more than 12 Jedi kills during the course of the Lost Jedi. However, not without enormous losses, including their own lives. Only one member of Clawing Legion makes it to the Barren Moon for the final showdown. But which?
