Unseen Shadows

The Reverend: Wrath of God Preview

Allejuah!! First preview of Wrath of God, one section of Tales of the Fallen trade paperback available from the Thought Bubble Comic Convention in Leeds. Still working on it if I’m honest. Meanwhile 4 other creative teams all over the country are working to complete their projects ready for the big release. Trust me, there’s plenty special to take a look at.

Check it out at www.unseenshadows.com.

Fallen Heroes 2 Preview

As previews are now readily available on www.unseenshadows.com we can post them up here for viewing by the assembled Bunkerites. We should be in that nice little tunnel on the run up to the project going to print for us to post up something every week so watch this space.

Fallen Heroes 2 will be available at Thought Bubble for anyone who’s going. See you there.

Fallen Heroes 2, Page 1 in Full Colour

This just in! Gat Melvyn’s exceptional work on Page 1 of Fallen Heroes 2. More pages are currently in the works and frankly I cannae wait to see more of Gat’s finishes. There’s a coupla effects needed on this page but aside from that it’s ready to go. Work continues on the multiple titles due to come out over the next few months at Beyond the Bunker.com.

BTB celebrates 25,040 hits!!

Myself and Dan were very specific a short while ago that 25,040 hits specifically was an important milestone in the history of Beyond the Bunker (not 25,000). After 10 short months we have steadily built up to the magic number from 18 hits in September 2011 to 4,724 in March. We’ve still got a lot to do and some of the stuff responsible for BTB’s reaching of 25,040 hits is linked down below. Moon 2, FH 2 and Unseen Shadows have seen new creatives join and cooperate with the Bunker and 2012 promises to be an interesting time for us – with old projects coming to an end and new ones already being planned. We hope you enjoy the upcoming stuff. Thanks from both myself and Dan for checking in on us.

Never fear….

To all of those we met at LFCC on the weekend and all those who bought a copy of Moon rest assured that Moon 1 is not the only Moon you’ll be getting this year. A record number of folks asked us abut Moon 2 over the weekend and we’ll repeat what we said. Moon 2 is currently hot on the heels of Moon 1. You can expect to see a copy at the end of the Summer and I can confirm it’ll be loaded with Moony goodness.

If you’re bored or you don’t know much about Moon why not check out our ‘What is Moon’ section. Also, please don’t forget Fallen Heroes 1 which is also available to order from Unseen Shadows.com. More news on Moon, Fallen Heroes, Unseen Shadows and other comic projects will appear here regularly. There is also The Lost Jedi – a Star Wars epic I began in 2007 – posted every second Wednesday.

In the meantime we have Star Wars, Dark Knight and Hobbit updates as well as film trailers, daft stuff from the interweb and ongoing blogs. We try to update every day if we can with something so please keep on checking back. Unseen Shadows and Moon are typically Monday and Thursday respectively.

Hello LFCC Friends!

Hi chaps,

It occurs that there are probably quite a lot of new people visiting the site this weekend as a result of The London Film and Comic Con and we just wanted to take the chance to say hi and show you around the site a little bit.

I’m Dan, I wrote Moon. You can find my bio HERE!

Steve drew Moon and Fallen Heroes. You can read all about him HERE!

If you want to find out what the Moon comic is all about you can find up to date news HERE and a trailer/blurb HERE!

If you want to mail order a copy of the book then you can do so HERE!

Steve and I are heavily involved in the Unseen Shadows line of books and you can read about them HERE!

You might have noticed that we make films as well. You can find all of them on the menu at the top or by clicking HERE!

We try to update the site almost every day so we have a whole bumload of other features and articles for when we don’t have any Moon or FH news to tell you about. Here’s a few of them that you might want to check out:

THE PRACTITIONERS is a weekly blog by Steve which looks back over the careers of some of the most influential people in the comics industry. There are over 30 articles on there already so you’ve got plenty of reading to do. There will be a test at the end. I’d suggest using the menu at the top to navigate them so it doesn’t become too overwhelming! (hint: The Jeph Loeb one is very entertaining)

THE EXTRAORDINARY ADVENTURES OF MONSIEUR POPPALEUX is a weekly clipart webcomic which is honestly not written by me (honest) but rather by the famous 90′s children’s author and cat strangler, Dr Jean-François Bacharach. It’s about a maladjusted smiley face and a pie chart who lies.

On top of all this both STEVE and MYSELF both have blogs here and we often write articles about COMICSFILMSand GAMES.

Finally, if you are so inclined you can also follow MESTEVE and BEYOND THE BUNKER on twitter.

Given how many books we’ve sold to children as of late I should take a moment to say that we are trying to keep the site as kid friendly as we can, but bear in mind that certain parts of it (the films and Monsieur Poppaleux in particular) are intended for an older audience.

Phew! What a lot of links. Well that should give you plenty of stuff to keep you busy for a while. Please pop us on your bookmarks bar and check in every day to see what’s new and be sure to drop us a message and let us know what you think of the book and the site. You guys really are the backbone of this whole endeavour and it’s honestly very humbling to see how much interest you all take in what we do.

Welcome to Beyond The Bunker.

He's Moon and you are OK with him.

First Page From Band of Butchers

I held off on posting this for a while because I wanted to give the other guys a chance to show it off, but with Page 2 already in my inbox and preliminary colours starting to roll in as well, I think it’s about time to show it off. The pencils and inks here are the work of Rob Carey and I hope that you’re as excited about them as I am.

Band of Butchers is a one shot comic, written by myself, which details the early career of mercenary, Clancy Wallencheck. For regular updates on the project keep coming back here or check out the UNSEEN SHADOWS WEBSITE.

Concept Art From Clancy Wallencheck: Band of Butchers

This is the first bit of concept art from my next comic. It is obviously not drawn by me as I can’t draw for toffee, but is rather the work of Rob Carey who will, I’m delighted to say, be drawing the whole book. I was a fan of Rob’s work on Indifference Engine before the project and after seeing how well he’s nailed Clancy in what he called “a quick sketch I did in my lunch break” I couldn’t be more excited about seeing the rest. This comic is going to be something special.

You might notice that I’ve re-labelled the “Fallen Heroes” section of the menu to say “Unseen Shadows”. With the Unseen Shadows universe expanding beyond Fallen Heroes, it seemed to make sense to tweak the menu. You’ll still find all the old stuff there and I’ve added a link to the official Unseen Shadows site too.

I’ve actually had another bit of BoB concept art through in the last few hours, but it needs to go through Barry Nugent before we can think about making any of it public. Suffice it to say, it’s fantastic.

First Look at Steph Connisbee: Operation Solomon

Afternoon all,

Those of you who have been following us for a while will know that Steve and I are currently (along with several other people) working on a Fallen Heroes spin off project called Unseen Shadows. It’s a huge project but one aspect of it involves a range of 22 page one shots, spinning out of Barry Nugent’s best selling novel/comic.

One of the spin off stories is Steph Connisbee: Operation Solomon by Richmond Clements and Conor Boyle. Barry released some preview art for the book earlier today and I have to say that it’s looking bloody lovely. Conor Boyle’s character work may well be some of the best I’ve seen on the Indy circuit and I’m now well and truly stoked for this book.

Here’s one of the pages for you to perv over but if you want to see the other one you’ll have to go over the the official UNSEEN SHADOWS WEBSITE (which is awesome).

EDIT: Be sure to have a look at Barry’s comment at the bottom of this post for clarification on what Unseen Shadows actually is. Basically Fallen Heroes is a part of the Unseen Shadows universe rather than the other way around.
