If Batman Were Voiced by the Cookie Monster

[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7enjABApKWE&w=640&h=480]

I swear something has broken in my brain as of late. First the cat singing Game of Thrones has me laughing like a child and now this. Turns out that if you take Christian Bale’s bonkers Bat-voice out of the movies and replace it with the only-slightly-less-bonkers Cookiee Monster voice, the result is something so stupid it deserves a nobel prize.

Wonderful.

Good Morning. Here's a Cat Singing the Game of Thrones Theme

[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vEg4SEch27w&w=853&h=480]

This is a cat called Arya. Arya loves Game of Thrones just a little bit less that her owner loves faffing about with autotune. If you’ve been pining for the show since the end of season 2 earlier this year then this…will not help in the slightest. But you probably won’t be able to stop watching, regardless.

Thanks internet.

Henri, Le Chat Noir

[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IiYUzYozsAQ&w=853&h=480]

It’s been a while since I shared something really silly and yet utterly brilliant so allow me to break that dry spell with this. Henri, Le Chat Noir is an online meta-series about the existential misery of a depressed French cat. I’ve seen the French cinema parody done many times but few as deftly as this little gem.

If you enjoyed the despair that was 3eanuts then I think you’ll get a kick out of Henri.

Bon.

The Thoughtful Guy Rap

[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U6y7YOlldek&w=853&h=480]

Much like we here at the Bunker, Youtubers Rhett & Link are both thoughtful guys. In fact, they like to think about the mysteries of the universe so much that they mad a rap video about it.

If you like your musical comedy with a Flight of the Conchords feel then you’ll probably dig this.

Shadow – A Short Film by Martin Conaghan

Probably need to reduce the number of vids being posted. We are raping Youtube right now. However, this is slightly different. Over at Copydesk.com, the online vestibule of Martin Conaghan (writer of Fallen Heroes and Burke and Hare) there is this short film, made for the BBC and based on a comic book short by Martin and Mike Perkins.

Very much fulfilling the title of short it’s a very succinct gem of a short film realising a lovely idea (if a little creepy).

An Ode to Trollin'! : Thank you Hater! Wins The Internet Today!*

This little number caught my attention earlier today and I’d lined it up for later on in the week until I saw that our resident writer Dan’s very own web savvy (and frankly cooler) brother had clocked it too I took it as a sign to post up and frankly ride the anti-trollin’ wagon.

The musical video by Clever Pie and Isabel Fey tackles the seedy underbelly of frustrated illiteracy on the web. It doesn’t quite tackle the Freudian nightmare suggested by the seemingly unstoppable bubbling up of religious extremism, bigotry and bad spelling that apparently underpins society but is held at bay because we can see each other, but it’s very funny and well aimed. And features a wanking gibbon and a Samba Interlude. Which always gets a thumb up from us.

Cnuts.

For Anyone Who's Ever Played an Old School Game: Go Right

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kiePaAHK3jE&feature=player_embedded

This succinct and beautifully thought through video by Youtuber RockyPlanetesimal tells you everything anyone who never owned a SNES or a Mega Drive needs to know about old school gaming. It’s the single minded pursuit of a simple goal. To keep going right – whether you’re gigantic, tiny, an arabian prince, a superhero, an italian plumber, a knight with rickety armour or an Earthworm that simple premise saw a billion gamers through tough times. God bless you, you’ve got the right stuff!!

Dropping Science: You Live In The Past

[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BTOODPf-iuc&w=853&h=480]

Happy Saturday everyone. If you like popular science then you should probably already be subscribing to the fascinating youtube channel that is vsauce. In case you aren’t however, here is another fantastic video from them in which they take a look at the nature of time, how tall people live in the past and where we get the term “Chick Flick”.

I’m out shooting a short film with James Eaton, Joshua Broadstone and Jack Gavin today. I’ll sling some more news up next week but until then why not check out our last film, The Devil’s Fork!

Walk Off The Earth One Guitar Parody

If you spend any time on the internet then you’re probably already familiar with the wonderful video in which Walk Off The Earth cover Gotye and Kimbra’s “Somebody That I used to know” using just one guitar. If you’re not then here it is, it’s awesome and you’ll need to be familiar with it in order to die laughing at what’s coming next:

Ok, so that was great. Now, as is the way all virals, it was only a matter of time until somebody produced a parody and fortunately for us in this case the lampoon has come from musical comedy heavyweights, The Key of Awesome. I have honestly not laughed so hard in a long time (though it should be said that I do really like the original song so I may be a little biased).

Anyway, watch, enjoy and check out some more of Key of Awesome’s work.
